Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) is a technique used to remove minor dents and dings from a vehicle's body without the need for painting or body filler. This method preserves the factory paint job and is commonly used for repairing hail damage, door dings, and minor creases.

How PDR Works

  1. Assessment – A technician examines the dent to determine if it can be repaired using PDR. Factors such as dent size, location, and paint condition are considered.

  2. Accessing the Dent – The technician gains access to the backside of the dent by removing interior panels, trim, or using special tools through existing openings.

  3. Massaging the Metal – Using specialized tools, the technician carefully massages and reshapes the metal from behind, restoring it to its original form.

  4. Final Touches – The technician may use additional techniques like glue pulling (for hard-to-reach areas) and precise tapping to refine the repair.

Benefits of PDR

  • Cost-Effective – Typically cheaper than traditional bodywork.

  • Time-Saving – Repairs can often be completed in hours instead of days.

  • Retains Factory Paint – No repainting means no color mismatch or need for blending.

  • Eco-Friendly – No chemicals, fillers, or paint used in the process.

PDR is ideal for small to medium dents as long as the paint is intact. If a dent has severe paint damage or deep creases, traditional body repair may be necessary.
